We’re excited to partner with rock ‘n’ roll trio KALO to raise funds for Oklahoma musicians. The band will raffle off prizes and raise money to benefit Red Dirt Relief Fund at their CD release show July 15 at 9 p.m. at Soul City of Tulsa, 1621 E 11th St.
While the CD release show for the band’s latest album has been planned for months, the trio knew they had to make the event extra special when they learned of the death in April of longtime music and art lover and Tulsa music scene pillar, Bonnie Roy. The band experienced firsthand Roy’s passion for helping musicians last September during The Legacy Tribute at Venue Shrine in Tulsa, which was also a Red Dirt Relief Fund fundraiser.
“Bonnie supported me and my band – and so many other musicians – and gave of herself so honestly and freely,” said Bat-Or Kalo, guitarist and singer for KALO. “I will never forget her kindness, strength and encouragement, and I know working together in her honor to support a cause she believed in is a tribute to her legacy.”
The band will raffle off a package intended as a thank-you for Roy’s support of KALO’s latest studio album.
Raffle prizes will include:
Grand prize: Lunch and guitar strumming with Bat-Or Kalo(in/around Tulsa); signed copies of the band’s latest album and their 2016 live album; band T-shirt and signed poster.
Signed KALO CD pack
KALO T-shirt and coozie
Red Dirt Relief Fund swag
